About us

Welcome to Nadia Skye, where every piece of jewellery tells a story that begins with love, inspiration, and nature. My name is Asha, and my journey into the world of jewellery began at a young age under the guidance of my father, a talented jeweller whose creations were deeply influenced by the beauty of the natural world. Growing up in this environment, I was fortunate to absorb not only his creativity and love for design but also his passion for life—treasures that he imparted to me during our all-too-brief time together. My dad passed away when I was just 16, it turned my world upside down. Yet, one of the most important lessons he taught me and still resonates with me today, was to cherish life and pursue what you love.
This lesson became a guiding principle as I explored my own creativity through painting and eventually found my path as a makeup artist. While this role allowed me to express myself creatively, I felt an urge to reconnect with my roots in jewellery design. Inspired by my father's ability to envision unique pieces drawn from his love of leaves, flowers, and the iconic Koru motifs of New Zealand, I realised that I wanted to carry on his legacy. His jewellery was a reflection of the beauty that surrounded us, and his pieces became a beloved staple at the Opal Centre (now known as Waka Jewellers) in Queenstown. His pieces often selling out due to their popularity. Knowing that his artistry still resonates with others warms my heart and reinforces my desire to create.
My connection to the sky has always been a constant source of inspiration—its ever-changing beauty from dawn to dusk, rain or shine. One of my fondest memories is singing “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles with Dad and my brother every winter morning, a song that now holds a special place in my family’s heart. It was the song I walked down the isle to, that way I knew my Dad would be walking with me. It’s a fitting tribute to the beginning of my journey, and it served as the inspiration for my first collection, Dawn, capturing the essence of new beginnings and the first rays of sunlight.
Recently, our lives have transformed as we welcomed our wonderful son, Aidan. In a beautiful twist, his name spelled backwards gives me "Nadia," which perfectly embodies my vision for this brand. Aidan has ignited my passion to pursue this dream and to inspire him in the same way my Dad inspired me.
As I embark on this new chapter, with the unwavering support of my husband, I'm excited to share this journey with you. Together, let’s explore the beauty of jewellery inspired by nature and the sky. Join us as we create pieces that celebrate individuality and connection—because the sky truly is the limit! I can't wait to see where this adventure takes us.
